Verse I don’t appreciate your phone call Wednesday night As I was choking on a bottle we could light These trembling hands and bad decisions that I made On a mountain built of truth but climbed in vain (Nietzsche quote) I remember waking up felt baked on the blistered sun Should have taken chances from a bottle to the gun Like a Prozac zombie trapped in memories that fade Constant state of fog and a great smile so full of grace CHORUS caught in a trap, IM caught in the rafters I Committed all my crimes I bet that you believe that you’re the one Who saved me from that life And oh I heard your words and damn deceiving Telling stories way to fake To make it look like I’m the one to blame caught in a trap, hanging from the rafters I Admitted all my lies and in the end you see images you want Through your closed eyes we both got a secret you’re damn conceited Kicking, screaming, calling names, but we both know That you’re the one to blame Verse Started working harder to prove all the voices wrong They were trapped in side my head but suddenly they’re gone And I’ve made it out a battered soul no worse for wear This all made me smarter and I feel a lot less scared Been a long long time but now I feel our paths are stuck Every couple years I know you’ll suddenly pop up Well it kills me not because of fear or false conjecture But from all the wishing that your car stalls in those Chicago Winters!!!

Seven Inch 05:43
Verse I can’t believe that, you’re not calling I’m the one alone today, but you’re the one who really dropped the ball And now your proof is Now your covers blown You’re narcissistic I bet you believe Your words so prophetic and your soul is pure, your handsome, quite adored It’s a mistake that It’s the one mistake you make This storied drama, clocks and broken passion A brawl so pure and elegant, the words and movements fast and quite adorned Let them sit back Lets sit back and wait Verse Friends are noisey, all feeling sorry The conversations taking place, the back and forth the rumours spilling out Their all confused and Angry at them both A bit narcissistic, some choosing sides We all knew he’d end up a wretch, well guess what kids we all think that she’s a bore Let them move on There’s so little sentiment It’s a storied drama, the end of built up passion We love, we lose, never content, the pace to fast, our feelings quickly thrown Then we sit in silence Then we all sit back and wait Chorus (I) I know I’m not leaving home just for fun (YOU) You feel it’s the start of a something (WE) We know we’ll be back here with bells on Another stupid band with aspirations (I) I know that I’ll miss you through summer and (YOU) Just please keep our counter seats empty (CAUSE WE) We hope that we’re helping a movement Killing time and cells on the open road

Punk Song 04:47
Verse You’re Only 23 but creeping up on 50 Well you’re so cool standing there tattoos and piercings Lonely as a ghost in a room so full of friends Who never knew quite as well as I thought I did Still going to shows, and listening to Jesse Like you’re his Muse, you say your middle name is daisy But I’m solid as a fence and your fist’s gone way past broke Your existential break turned out to be a joke Do you remember all those Thursday shows Or that Texas is the Reason I have Feared Before The March Of Flames, but please leave don’t Say Anything And if you need me Ill be Running with a Band of Horses I tried to buy a home from Sunny Day But the grounds so full of Mineral And Id swear now Underoath that someone’s Poisoned the Well So now Im drinking down on State St. at the Neutral Milk Hotel Chorus I THOUGHT THAT YOU CAME HERE TO SAVE ME ITS DANGEROUS TO START SOMETHING WE KISSED AND IT SEEMED LIKE A DAYDREAM BUT SOON We’ll BE GONE AND ALONE FRANTIC I SHOULD BE DOING SOMETHING LIKE SCREAM AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS WE KISSED AND IT SEEMS LIKE A DAYDREAM AND NOW WE ARE DEAD BROKE AND GROWN Verse As king command Off With Their Heads, cause our Clashes all seem useless I am broke but I will Rise Against, what a Misfit sense of sentiment I am Joan of Arc in the worst of ways, an Adict and Im struggling Ive got Broken Bones and Promise Rings, Im a fake a full Fugazi I Refuse to let your bullshit in, riding down to Brandston Just me an Owen, Lights and Motion, for The Love of Everything Verse You’re Only 33 but creeping up on 50 Tattoos and booze just standing there now drunk and angry Still lonely as a ghost, in a room with to few friends Who never liked you quite as much as I thought I did

The Duder 04:11
Verse You say youre full of sincerety I think that your halfway there You say you think youre sorry But Im the one that sees youre scared You made your damning choices And wish that you could take them back Youre running away from all you feel Regrets caught up to you once again I can see you’re here to argue Though I have keys to your secret locks You’re the one with blood on your hands And that boyish look of paradox You could have given me a little help In the moments I was clearly spent But you chose to gawk and laugh it off I had no choice but to end it all Pre-Chorus This is so callous and cruel You stole all your stories and we’re the bloody fools Chorus You write like a dream But youre a disaster Why don’t you tell another tale or two Cause you seem consumed And summer is ending You’ve left the bitter stench of tragedy; it’s the scent of your perfume Verse The blackest ink has faded fast And your memories of our finest days I bet the twins have you on your toes Or is it Anne that sways your lasting gaze The lillies died decades ago And the weeds like violence turned to dust Though you’ve sworn me fair, its all unclear I take my path although its austere Interlude You’ve lost your way Now William figure it out I’ve read your tomes how insincere The plagues getting closer My lungs are a wreck And I fear my end is near Remember my name Please darling say it again As yours is my passing breath Ill keep all your secrets Those little regrets And the words you stole from Kit Chorus You write like a dream But youre a disaster Why don’t you tell another tale or two Cause you’ve been consumed And summer is ending You’ve left the bitter stench of tragedy; it’s the scent of your perfume

about

This demo was recorded by three friends over two weekends during a time of tea, sickness, conversation, granola bars, citrus, empty pools, laughter, and kindness. Each song tells a specific story about love, defeat, heartache, grit, and perseverance.

Douchebags is the story of the end.
7" is the story of the problem.
Punk song is the story of the aftermath.
Duder is the story of deceit from the perspective of plagiarism in poetry!

In the back bedroom represents the first seven months of Welcome to the Midwest!!!'s existence through 13 drummers, 4 failed second guitarists, countless points of giving up, slight alcoholism, open mics, dozens of shows, constant frustration, continued breakthrough, and infinite solidarity.

In the back bedroom is every band, in ever town that began something amazing for the love of music in order to have a little more fun in their life.
